In a matter of weeks, you can have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and the skills needed to be employed and earning competitive wages in the field of transportation.

 This course provides formal classroom instruction with evaluation and practical hands-on training with evaluation in accordance with OSHA standards. Completing both portions of the training results in the issuance of a forklift operator training certification card valid for 3 years. OSHA requires the employer to ensure that every powered industrial truck (forklift) operator is competent in the operation of a truck prior to operating as proven by the successful completion of the required training. This course focuses on the required elements of a forklift operator training program outlined in the OSHA forklift standard, 29 CFR 1910.178. The classroom instruction element provides general information on all types of forklifts and is followed by a written examination. The practical hands-on training provides specific instruction on the forklift operated by the trainee and is followed by an evaluation of performance. Training certification is issued for successful completion of both elements of the training process. To be legally employed as a forklift operator in any state in the U.S, a person must be at least 18 years of age and obtain certification.

This hands-on course teaches the X-Rhea knife-making method, from forging and heat treatment to finishing a high-performance blade.

This open lab allows participants to continue or refine knife-making projects at their own pace, using shop equipment with optional instructor support.

The Fiber Optic Technician program, in partnership with the Arkansas Fiber Academy, provides students with an opportunity to embark on a meaningful and rewarding career in the fiber broadband industry. Classroom and hands-on field experiences equip students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities employers look for when hiring fiber optic technicians to install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber broadband to homes and businesses. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be eligible for the Fiber Broadband Association OpTIC Path 3-year certification.

This free knife-making class for veterans provides guided instruction, shop access, and the opportunity to create a custom blade from start to finish.
